Neural Reset Therapy®

NRT is best suited for individuals who want to address musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction with a gentle, precise, and neurologically grounded approach rather than relying on prolonged deep tissue work. It's ideal for those dealing with chronic muscle tension, knots, restricted joint mobility, or postural imbalances who haven't found relief through traditional massage alone.

Neural Reset Therapy®

NRT traces its roots to two pioneering scientists, Sherrington and Pflüger, whose investigations of the nervous system over a century ago revealed its fundamental operating principles. Because the nervous system governs muscle function, applying the Law of Reciprocal Inhibition and the Law of Symmetry to the human body has transformed these laboratory discoveries into a practical, fast, and dependable form of manual therapy.

How Does NRT Work and Applied in A Therapy Session

Your body contains specialized nerve structures called mechanoreceptors, which detect pressure, speed, vibration, stretch, and other mechanical forces. When these receptors sense a change, they transmit a signal to the spinal cord, which then forwards it to the brain.

In NRT, the therapist briefly activates the receptors within a targeted muscle either by having you hold a position or move in a specific direction, or by tapping the muscle in a way that prompts the receptors to send a particular signal to the spinal cord.

This new signal travels through the spinal integrating center, which resets the nervous system and brings the muscle into a neurologically optimized state. Following the reset, muscular pain and tightness fade away. Joint mobility and posture improve as well.
