IASTM & Cupping Therapy

Enhance your recovery and optimize your body's function with Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and Cupping Therapy. These two advanced techniques are designed to target stubborn tension, scar tissue, and restricted movement - helping you recover faster and feel your best.

What to Expect

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) Therapy

IASTM involves gliding medical grade stainless steel tools over the skin to detect and break down scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and adhesions. This technique promotes blood flow, reduce inflammation, and restores optimal range of motion, making it ideal for treating chronic pain, sports injuries, and postural imbalances. â€‹

Clients may experience erythema (redness) on the skin as an indication of increased blood flow to the treated areas. Some may experience petechiae (pinpoint red spots). These are minor capillary release due to fascial adhesions breaking apart. These skin reactions are normal and often subsiding within 24-48 hours.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy involves placing specialized suction cups on the skin to lift and decompress soft tissues including muscle, fascia, and connective tissue (reverse massage). Due to the negative pressure generated inside the cups, this therapeutic technique can enhance vasodilation and draw out impurities such as old blood deposits from past injuries, cellular waste, and metabolic waste that the body could not dispose of on its own. This therapy when coupled with IASTM further aids in tissue separation and detoxification.

Post treatment, the cups may leave temporary marks on the skin depending on the level of stagnation from congested soft tissue. These are the trapped toxins and metabolic waste products being drawn to the surface of the skin furthering impurity elimination. The marks typically fade within 3-7 days depending on the individual's soft tissue health condition and the intensity of the treatment. â€‹

Key Benefits

  • Improve tissue mobility - Breaks down scar tissue and adhesions, enhancing flexibility.

  • Reduced pain - Helps alleviate chronic pain from conditions like tendinopathy or muscle strains.

  • Enhanced blood flow - Promotes healing by increasing circulation to treated areas.

  • Faster muscle recovery - Often used by athletes to reduce soreness and improve performance.

  • Better range of motion - Restores joint and muscle function by releasing soft tissue restrictions.

Who Can Benefit

  • Athletes - For injury prevention, recovery, and performance enhancement

  • Chronic pain sufferers - Those with back pain, shoulder pain, or repetitive strain injuries

  • Post-surgical patients - Helps break down scar tissue and improve mobility

  • Desk workers - Relieves tension from prolonged sitting

  • Individuals with muscle tightness or trigger points - Helps release knots and adhesions

  • People with circulatory issues - Promotes vasodilation and aids in blood flow in stiff or tense areas
